Asperger’s Children and Carers Together (ACCT) is a parent-led support group for children and families affected by Asperger’s syndrome and High Functioning Autism. We run activity groups for children and teenagers with Asperger’s and Autism, as well as family days out and other trips. Siblings are welcome too. We also host weekly drop-in sessions at Acctivate and monthly meetings for parents and carers.
Members are invited to all ACCT activities, receive a quarterly newsletter and have use of our library. Membership is free as is attending the clubs.

What is Asperger’s?
Asperger’s Syndrome is a Pervasive Developmental Disorder that falls within the Autistic Spectrum. Individuals with Asperger’s Syndrome are usually of average or above average intelligence. The condition presents differently in each person but is characterised with difficulties with social interaction, social communication and flexibility of thinking or imagination. In addition, there may be sensory, motor and organisational difficulties.
Our mission is to provide support to children affected by Asperger’s Syndrome, their families and others who care for them. In carrying out this mission will we ensure that the highest standards are maintained and that equal opportunities apply throughout the service.
